Trip To goa

I have been thinking rather dreaming to go for a long trip on bike. I got a chance to fullfil my dream of being on Road atlast. Took a road trip to Goa from Bangalore by bike.

We started early morning on Thursday Morning at 4.00 am.Very soon after navigating through the labryniths of Trucks reached NH4 towards TOMKUR. Till Tomkur it was a cool ride.Though We have to take a break inbetween due in early morning hurry we were not poperly attired to handle the cold early morning breeze.Once we got tide with warmer clothes. We were back on the road again. From Tomkur the really fun starts.

We took NH 206 from there towards Shimoga.Due to early morning, The roads where empty and I felt that suddenly the population of india has decreased or I have travelled back in time. Clear, empty road lie ahead of us and we drove very nicely and took some rest near the town of Tiptur. The fun lies stopping near the fields than in the town.Till far you can see only the beautiful landscape rip with Coconut trees and may be the definition of "usage of land" in appropriate sense was getting unfolded.

In our next run we covered till Shimoga from there we enter the Woods. In between Tiptur to Shimoga you will find some patches of bad roads, otherwise road is quite good .The freshness of morning has turned into the warmth of December noon here we had some more Coconut juice, nariyal pani.

In Shimoga, We had an option of filling the tank or wait till Sagar as usual this lazy fellow went ahead with the second option.Which led me to just look at my Petrol at every 5 mins to see if we will run out of petrol or not.But luck was by our side and My Wife missed the fun of pushing the bike :) Thanks God I am happy for that.

Definitely I wouldn't have liked that. The road to sagar was a nice road through the very dense forest , Road is very nicely maintained even though the place is almost inhabitated with human life.Perhaps folks in woods are more well mannared in maintain the road :).So Tuched the Petrol pump with a big smile on my face with Petrol Indicator well below the Red Mark. Took some rest at Petrol station and from there we zoomed to Jog Falls our first destination at 3.15 PM. Not a bad timiing considering a number of breaks we took . The journey was cool except for a regret of me not fulfilling incessant request of my wife to get a lotus from POND.

Jog fall is not of a kind of roaring fall at this time of an year.More of a drizzzle from some 300 mitres height to a very deep valley. But still the ambience and beauty of the fall covers for it.We sat there for an hour , looking at the fall , talking about us and me trying some meditating postures. The greenry around it so huge it funny that It makes man to be more inward looking. Strange are the ways of god and so of his creations.
There is another nice view spot from where you can get glimse of Badhravathi rive valley if you go little ahead from Jog Falls towards Honnavar. It is an awe-inspiring view from city dwellers.Man It is a place to wander.

From Jog fall we tried to reach Hannovar fast so that we are out of wood before the sun starts its descend to the other side of horizon. We made it to Hannovar by 5.00 PM in between waving young kids hello and pondering about what they have and what they miss.

Once we were in Hannovar It was time for another nariyal pani , Againt some petty bargaining for fun. From there we headed south to reach our Night rest and second destination "Murudheshwar", Though I raced with the sun to catch him in Murudheshwar before he get behind the sea but didn't work but we reaching Murudheshwar was very resting and we had smile of making 450 kms on first day we lots of fun through quite a picturesque route.

We had a place booked in RNA Residency, Nice view from room and It was good 1000 Rs and they do gave value for money.Said hi to Lord Shiva,Had food at the Sea Side restraunt , nice view and ok food. It was time to say goodbye to a wonderful day. So We did.

Next morning paid visit to Lord Sihva again,Went to see the temple and a long walk by the side of beach. The beach was quite decent and we collected lots of sipi(),even though my wife thinks they were very few till today:). Nice walk and now its time to hit the road again.

By 10.oo AM we were on the road again. This time no lumberness and I had my tank full at Hannovar. From Hannovar we drove for next 1 hours and had nariyal pani and 20 minutes break at kumta .we went from there towards Gokarna, There is a nice beach named OM - Beach there. The Gokarna town gives you a feeling of coming to a coastal Pushkar, Religious place full of foreigners. Here Sea decided to give me a change of giving big hug from my wife by having her googles in its waves and then returing back :). Very nice beach and the place is quite recommendable to stay. Hanged there for around 45 mins and rushed towards our end of onward journey Goa. Reached Madgao around 4.00 but the roads are so small and confusing that it took us around 2 hours to reach Goa Marriott. What a destination.Crashed in our room for 2 hours. Had a nice bath and perfect wine.Well this was my first time in 5 star.So I would like to blabber sometime arount it.
A nice view from there gallery of Sunset, Dine under the moon by the sea-side and with goan local songs going on. The food really tasted nice. The day ended under nice moonlite ,nice surroundings and nice smile on our faces by the satisfaction of making it to Goa.

Well roamed around in goa and now it was time to go back. So we moved out of marriot at 1.00, Though We thought of around starting back @ 11 But than time just flies there. We thought of returning back by a different route this time NH4, But to get to NH 4 I have to travel extra 100 kms, Heard that NH4 is straight road to bangalore So I pushed for it, Once I was about 100 kms on this road, The traffic started gettig lighter and lighter with road quality getting from bad to worse. By the time we reached Karnataka border there were just lorry drivers and one bike yeah thats us. Well asked the cops there why way to head from, well in words of wisdom he advised a short-cut .. Now this short cut is worth of few words , after all we rarely travel such roads in modern-age.

There was hardly any tar for next 20 Kms believe me guys. For 30 mins I didn't see a single guy forget any vehicle It was a katcha road and surrounded by trees. My dear beloved was more than happy when She saw a man walking . we confirmed with him how long are we going to enjoy this road well he said another 10 KMs... It was a journey to remember and I luv my bike for zig-zagging through boulders and gettig me a nice hug ;) once we were out of forest. Well I had my first break after 3.30 hrs of straight drive. I wanted to get to the highway asap .Luckily by 5.30 we made it to Nh4 , From here Drive was little smoother. Drove like crazy for next 10 hrs with on and off breaks and made it to Home by 5.30 in morning.

Voila " What a Journey "
